Slop shop. No place to move. Can't find things. Things are not well cared for. Unfriendly owner. VERY high pressure sales techniques. Pricing is double of what book is. Avoid like the plague.

There is SO MUCH in this store, it's like a treasure hunt. But Max is awesome and helpful, and he collects whole sets and story arcs that he sells as a package deal! Excellent place to delve into some vintage stories.

Would have loved for my husband to be able to shop here, unfortunately we waited around all day for the store to open at 530 (as advertised on the door and online) then drove 40 minutes to the store, we arrived at 645 only to find it closed. My husband was pretty disappointed; He then called the store, no one answered but the message to leave a voice mail was kind of a slap in the face and apparently was supposed to be funny. Not funny when you are only in Portland for a day and we could have done something else.

I used to come in here and hang out with the owner and just talk shop all the time. Max is a really cool, genuine guy. He's no-nonsense and I appreciate that. Just tells it how it is, will always try to price match for you and give you a good deal, you never know what treasure you will find here. If you want the experience of a true comics and collectibles shop, not the wildly corporate sterile kind, you have found the right place.

Showed up at 4:30 pm on a wednesday, when their sign says they open on Wednesdays, AND when they've told Google Maps they're open, and waited around but they didn't open. Wasted an hour and a half a block away at Things from Another World, just went back and it's almost 6 pm now, still not open. Called their number - the owner (I'm guessing) laughingly says on the recording to make sure to call before coming by, joking that they open at wildly different times. I came from Portland, I'm not going to drive the hour back out here again. This just feels rude to customers, to me. If you're listed here as being open at a certain time, AND post on your door that you're open at a certain time, then just do what you say you're going to do. Meanwhile, Things From Another World is a great shop with cool toys, it's a block away, and they won't lie to you about when they're open and then laugh at you with their answering machine message. But if you DO go to this place, make sure to call ahead!!
